ImprovEd Shakespeare’s
    MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
    (Fall, 2015)

After a year full of so much activity, it was a bittersweet surprise when fall rolled around and enrollment dwindled. It felt like maybe the program had run it’s course. Our final production was to be “Much Ado About Nothing.” We had a cast of eleven, which is a good size for a Shakespeare production. Our rehearsals took place at Austin Scottish Rite Theater and we scaled our number of performances back to two – a far cry from the past frenzy. No more Lab and we chose not to perform at Texas Renaissance Festival School Days this year. Due to an unmovable set for a different production, our staging took place in the front of the “curtain,” on the steps of the stage and into the house of the theatre. With a thrust layout and candles marking the performance space, the players sat on the sidelines with the audience. It was an intimate and beautiful setting, harking back to days of lore. Count yourself among the lucky few if you were able to see this production.
